In addition to the Youth Caucus, there are a number of other caucuses in the Green Party.
Caucuses help bring greater diversity to the Green Party, and help ensure that the Green Party is hearing from historically under-represented people and taking up their concerns and needs.
Caucuses are groupings of Greens, not explicitly ideological in nature, that has historically failed to attain adequate access to power in society at-large and/or within the Green movement. Currently, the national party includes Black, Latinx, Lavender, Women's and Youth Caucuses. There are persons actively trying to build Disability and Native American Caucuses for accreditation. Others have spoken of trying to start caucuses for undocumented persons, formerly incarcerated persons, etc. Caucuses need to achieve a certain number of members with geographic diversity to become accredited within the party, which allows them to be represented on the National Committee and appoint members to other committees.
We encourage Young EcoSocialists to get involved in other caucuses and the efforts to begin other caucuses that align with their identities.
