Please tell us if and why you believe the Green Party is the political imperative right now as opposed to other parties or exclusively non-electoral movements? *

The Green Party is the only anti-capitalist party with a nationwide presence and ballot access in nearly all 50 states. The Green Party is the party of sustainability and a bright future, compared to the dismal vision of the 2 party system.

Do you identify with or are you a member of any political organizations or parties in addition to the Greens?  *

No

What experience do you have in organizing? Please clarify any movement, electoral, or student group organizing experience.  *

What ideas do you have for a vibrant program for Young Greens chapters--both on campuses (college & high school) and any Youth Caucus chapters at the state and local level? *

Youth chapters need to get out there and be seen, and destroy the stereotype of politically-apathetic youth. Many people of my age are very interested in politics but can't relate to the generally older membership of establishment political organizations.

I was homeschooled.

Are you willing to reach out to people at these schools, regardless of whether you serve on the steering committee or not?  *

I can (and have previously) connect anti-capitalists that may not have any hope in parliamentary politics with the Green Party to effect change via both elections and direct action.

What else would you like to share? *

If elected for this position, I will do my absolute best to promote the Green Party as the party for the youth of America, and a party that is explicitly against the oppressions that we face today.

Yes

Are there any of the Green Party's 10 Key Values that you believe are of particular importance right now for Young Greens? *

Yes, I believe that the Respect For Diversity is important right now for the Young Greens because right now we have a divided nation, we have a nation that has to much inequality no matter where you go. But the best way to oppose all of the divisiveness is by showing that we the next generation can respect all of our cultures, ethnic, racial, sexuality, religious and spiritual diversity, we will be the next generation that will be setting an example for our what our future children and grandchildren will live in so let's try to show a good example for them.

Please tell us if and why you believe the Green Party is the political imperative right now as opposed to other parties or exclusively non-electoral movements? *

Well the Green Party is the one of the only poltical parties that is not controlled or paid by corruption, the major two parties would put there interest first but the Green Party is reserved instead of interest first, it is people first and that is what the Green Party has always been.

Do you identify with or are you a member of any political organizations or parties in addition to the Greens?  *

No I do not identify with any other poltical organization.

What experience do you have in organizing? Please clarify any movement, electoral, or student group organizing experience.  *

I have been a advisor for workers march movement, this movement represents hard working americans that are as of right now not having a voice and the workers march movement tries to be a voice for the hard working americans here in this country, I also want to mention the workers march will marching on April 30 to Washington D.C. so fill free to look up and possibly join the movement. I have also been a volunteer for No More Two Party System a non-profit organization and Independent Media they are a place for third parties and they want to get away with two major political parties.

What are initiatives that you would like to begin within the caucus--both generally and within the understanding of the designated role you are applying for? *

My initiatives is to try to seek media opportunities for the caucus and try to be the spokesperson for the cacaus, and by doing this I believe it will make the cacaus more well known and be more establish.

What ideas do you have for a vibrant program for Young Greens chapters--both on campuses (college & high school) and any Youth Caucus chapters at the state and local level? *

The ideas I have is get more recognition for the caucus, the best way to get recognition is to hold and organizing events, and by doing this can possibly increase funding for the caucus. And it can help the Youth Caucus chapters at any level high school, college, local, and state.

Are you willing to reach out to people at these schools, regardless of whether you serve on the steering committee or not?  *

Yes

We hope to raise money for a part-time staff organizer. Do you have any ideas for how to raise money for the Young Greens?  *

Well I think it is time to bring donation opportunities for the caucus if we decide to do this it can help raise money and help the part time organizer.

What other skills, resources, and ideas can you bring to this committee -- especially as it relates to the specific role you are applying for?  *

One particular idea I have in mind is to organize town hall meetings which will led to spread more awareness about us, and this can lead more young people to join the Young Greens.

What else would you like to share? *

I would like to share to the caucus that I experienced homelessness at one point in my life, and I want to take the time to say identify that I identify as gay. And the reason why I am running is because I want to get more involved with the Green Party and the caucus.

Future Focus and Sustainability. These policy makers will not be on the planet 50 years from now, but I certainly will. Let's build a world to accommodate me, and my kids, and my kid's kids,

Please tell us if and why you believe the Green Party is the political imperative right now as opposed to other parties or exclusively non-electoral movements? *

On the level of lower government, the Green Party is the only party that someone can vote for and be guaranteed a progressive candidate free if corruption.

Not a member of any party, but I course the progressive base of democrats.

What experience do you have in organizing? Please clarify any movement, electoral, or student group organizing experience.  *

I aided Nancy Wallace in her election in the 8th Congressional District in Maryland.

What are initiatives that you would like to begin within the caucus--both generally and within the understanding of the designated role you are applying for? *

Obviously, the number one priority is getting greens into office. We need to identify districts susceptible to a green take over, and then take over, obviously.

What ideas do you have for a vibrant program for Young Greens chapters--both on campuses (college & high school) and any Youth Caucus chapters at the state and local level? *

We want candidates energetic and ready to speak in front of large crowds. I want greens to visit high schools and give moving speeches. This is planting a seed for future voters, which is what the Green Party needs.

I go to Howard High school in Howard County Maryland.

Are you willing to reach out to people at these schools, regardless of whether you serve on the steering committee or not?  *

Yes

We hope to raise money for a part-time staff organizer. Do you have any ideas for how to raise money for the Young Greens?  *

I've read Bernie Sander's most recent book on his election experiences, and he showed the reader how to hold donor dinners without the corruption and special treatment. 25 dollar entrance into a fund raiser dinner to meet and greet candidates and have food.

What other skills, resources, and ideas can you bring to this committee -- especially as it relates to the specific role you are applying for?  *

I'm young. I'm sprung. And I'm energetic. Not much else you can ask for.

What else would you like to share? *

Being a young fellow like myself, I would obviously like to be taken seriously. Contact Nancy Wallace, former green party candidate for 8th Congressional District in Maryland if you want to be sure I mean business. [email protected]

Social Justice and Equal Opportunity

Please tell us if and why you believe the Green Party is the political imperative right now as opposed to other parties or exclusively non-electoral movements? *

This is the party of true, fundamental political changes that push the US to the left. The Democrats are not only bought and sold they are callous and ignorant. They are out of touch with what is actually going on in this country. It's all one big ivory tower.

Do you identify with or are you a member of any political organizations or parties in addition to the Greens?  *

I could use some help switching my party affiliation from the Democratic PArty to the Green Party.

What experience do you have in organizing? Please clarify any movement, electoral, or student group organizing experience.  *

I have worked several campaigns. Mostly in a canvassing position. The primary experience that I draw on is the 'Think Before You Ink' campaign in California. Additionally, I served as a regional representative to the Student Senate of California Community Colleges after winning a general election. I was also elected to serve as a student senator during my time at Rio Hondo College in Whittier, California.

What are initiatives that you would like to begin within the caucus--both generally and within the understanding of the designated role you are applying for? *

Targeting the most strategic areas to run candidates for office. Our resources are limited and it is my view that if we want to more than just make a statement they are being egregiously misdirected.

What ideas do you have for a vibrant program for Young Greens chapters--both on campuses (college & high school) and any Youth Caucus chapters at the state and local level? *

Draw inspiration from organizations like the Black Panthers. Activism and acts of civil disobedience will magnetize the people in this country that are looking for a true progressive movement to the Green Party.

What schools have you been or are you currently affiliated with?  *

Rio Hondo College

Are you willing to reach out to people at these schools, regardless of whether you serve on the steering committee or not?  *

Not at the moment

What other skills, resources, and ideas can you bring to this committee -- especially as it relates to the specific role you are applying for?  *

As a veteran of the United States Navy there have been a lot of people in my life with what seemed like infinite power over me. My view of leadership is the exact opposite. A leader is a servant. Instead of asking 'How can I get you to vote for me?' leaders should be asking 'How can I use the position to make your life better?' That is my only goal. To make lives of the American people measurably better. It is my hope that with a background as a speech and debate national champion that we will be able to find a message that works and broadcast it so that the world knows that we are here for real, radical change.

What else would you like to share? *

In short: Relevance. It should be no mystery that the American people are struggling to see how the Green movement is relevant to their lives. When a party that sets a goal of 5% of the popular vote only receives approximately 1% of said vote, we are doing something wrong. This is the perfect time to make ourselves relevant. The universal stomach turn our nation feels every time our current president sends out a tweet is potential energy begging to be converted into the resources, fundraising, human capital, etc. that we so desperately need. If one person cause can that much horror in 140 characters imagine what it could do for the 'political revolution' if I may borrow from Senator Bernie Sanders. We are the energy that will set off the Big Bang. We just need to be more focused, more strategic, more delicate. The American people are fed up.They have been for a long time. People are looking for a movement. Practically begging for a new wave of political upheaval and radical thought that will push our nation in directions yet unknown. I believe in my heart that the the Green Party is that movement. It's just a matter of getting everyone else to see it. And how do we do that? By becoming relevant to their lives.

Equity. There are too many black suit millionaires that are in control and making the rules. It should be the people, the base, that are being engaged and involved and not the tip of the pyramid. Diversity and equity in our processes are the key to moving the political needle especially when it comes to proportional representation.

Please tell us if and why you believe the Green Party is the political imperative right now as opposed to other parties or exclusively non-electoral movements? *

The Green party looks at the big picture and puts people before politics. This is why we are viewed as the voice of reason, especially in times of discord. We do not have outside interests in our party. The basis of all we do in my eyes is for people and the environment in which they live, making it safe, equitable, environmentally wise, economically sound and self sustaining, diverse, and un-bought. Everything in life is not black and white, Republican or Democrat. There are other hues and one of them is Green!

Do you identify with or are you a member of any political organizations or parties in addition to the Greens?  *

No.

What experience do you have in organizing? Please clarify any movement, electoral, or student group organizing experience.  *

Small musical concert series (similar to NPR tiny music library series), dog walking, designing and selling merchandise.

What other skills, resources, and ideas can you bring to this committee -- especially as it relates to the specific role you are applying for?  *

I have the energy, passion, and inclusive collaborative spirit needed to get organized, execute on our strategy and make an impact. I like to find creative solutions and build community. Our strength is our diversity and we should celebrate it not divide ourselves by it.

What else would you like to share? *

I am excited at the chance to be a part of our leadership and move the party forward.

All of them.

Please tell us if and why you believe the Green Party is the political imperative right now as opposed to other parties or exclusively non-electoral movements? *

As my friends in Miami once said, the Green Party has got to be the electoral wing of the movement. If not now, when? If not us, who? 2050 is not a long time from now, and and some climate catastrophe is coming. We don't have time to play. If we're serious about this, we need to get to work.

Do you identify with or are you a member of any political organizations or parties in addition to the Greens?  *

Several political organizations. I do work with other third parties to build alliances and make things happen in localities.

What experience do you have in organizing? Please clarify any movement, electoral, or student group organizing experience.  *

What are initiatives that you would like to begin within the caucus--both generally and within the understanding of the designated role you are applying for? *

To fight ageism, and bring awareness of it. To start running young people all across the country, because the future looks like our generation.

What ideas do you have for a vibrant program for Young Greens chapters--both on campuses (college & high school) and any Youth Caucus chapters at the state and local level? *

There's a lot we're not already doing. There's always more that we can be doing. We need to be canvassing the streets, meeting students and pushing our platform. Hold voter registration drives. Also, so it isn't just "born political stuff", let's hold events. Town halls, campus parties, and even smoke sessions (especially my young friends in Colorado). The Green party has to be known by everybody, as the alternative. We need a chapter on as many campuses as possible, and in high schools too.

What schools have you been or are you currently affiliated with?  *

As of now, my last year at Fort Lauderdale High School, and I'll be soon off to college somewhere.

Sell more merchandise. I'm not a fan of membership dues because I think they can be a burden for many of us, but a voluntary membership due every month could help.

What other skills, resources, and ideas can you bring to this committee -- especially as it relates to the specific role you are applying for?  *

A unique perspective. The "no-time to waste" attitude. My truth telling even if it hurts feelings; I'm a good writer, debater, and I'm well known in activist circles and student groups around the country.

Decentralization. It's both a strength and a weakness. It's a strength in keeping us focused on local causes that are in our control, it's a weakness because we do not collaborate outside our geological circles enough to bring a national message.

Please tell us if and why you believe the Green Party is the political imperative right now as opposed to other parties or exclusively non-electoral movements? *

The Green Party is imperative because it does not accept corporate money and has a focus on the environment. No other party or organization has made those promise, and our candidates reflect it.

What are initiatives that you would like to begin within the caucus--both generally and within the understanding of the designated role you are applying for? *

I'd like to focus on media with the youth caucus. Because we hold decentralization as a core value, our voices are difficult to unify for the public. We need a social media strategy that we can commit to while also interacting with Green leaders to support their media strategies.

What ideas do you have for a vibrant program for Young Greens chapters--both on campuses (college & high school) and any Youth Caucus chapters at the state and local level? *

The Youth Caucus should be holding events around the country in colleges where Bernie Sanders was effective. Eventually we should be recruiting for minor local positions from members of the Youth Caucus.

Social Justice.

Please tell us if and why you believe the Green Party is the political imperative right now as opposed to other parties or exclusively non-electoral movements? *

The Green party has ballot access in many more states than other parties that represent my political beliefs and the Greens are the only electoral party that is anti-capitalist that has ballot access and actually believes in electoral politics. I believe the Greens are workers best hopes of improving their economic conditions.

Do you identify with or are you a member of any political organizations or parties in addition to the Greens?  *

Yes I am also a member of the International Socialist Organization.

What experience do you have in organizing? Please clarify any movement, electoral, or student group organizing experience.  *

During the 2016 campaign, i volunteered as a regional volunteer organizer. I helped find volunteers in Charlotte and Greensboro to flyer, canvass, phonebook, and petition. Here in Greensboro we distributed over 50,000 pieces of literature and Jill received the highest percentage of votes. Also, as a member of the Youth Caucus I took the lead in organizing a student and youth assembly with the founding members of the International Indigenous Youth Caucus in D.C. one day before Trumps inauguration January 19, 2017. Just recently here in Greensboro, I have helped start a new Greens chapter. We just passed our bylaws and elected co-chairs, secretary, and treasure.

What are initiatives that you would like to begin within the caucus--both generally and within the understanding of the designated role you are applying for? *

The Young Greens of The United States should be a leader in organizing a grassroots student lead movement to abolish student debt and demand tuition free public college and university. The average student in 2016 graduated with $37,000 in student loan debt. In total, 44 million people owe $1.3 trillion in student loan debt. The total cost to replace the Tomahawk Cruise Missiles Trump attacked Syria with is estimated between 30-60 million dollars. The total cost of the Iraq war is $1.7 trillion with benefits owed to war veterans expected to exceed $6 trillion. There is always money for war but not education. Theres always talk about the cost of tuition free public college and university but never about the cost of war. Everyone knows someone struggling with student loan debt. This is an intersectional issue that crosses all genders, races and ethnicities. I believe the YGUS has an amazing opportunity to build intersectional alliances and coalitions if we focus on building membership through increasing our involvement with the community; more specifically through direct action campaigns. Together we can say loud and clear to Washington, Books Not Bombs. "Money For Education Not War!”

What ideas do you have for a vibrant program for Young Greens chapters--both on campuses (college & high school) and any Youth Caucus chapters at the state and local level? *

I believe the YGUS' growth will be proportionate to the visibility of the organization on Campus nation wide. I think the more direct action the Youth Caucus is involved in will lead to larger member growth. This goes double for engaging with the community and other orgs to build coalitions locally.

What schools have you been or are you currently affiliated with?  *

Western Carolina University, The University of North Carolina at Asheville, Guilford College

Are you willing to reach out to people at these schools, regardless of whether you serve on the steering committee or not?  *

Yes

We hope to raise money for a part-time staff organizer. Do you have any ideas for how to raise money for the Young Greens?  *

I think we could sell awesome memorabilia made with crowd sourced graphics. We could use the crowd sourcing of graphics as a way to generate a buzz about the merchandise before it is released. This would also be a great way to keep our message out in the general public and hopefully would act as conversation starters for Young Greens on campus and in their community.

What other skills, resources, and ideas can you bring to this committee -- especially as it relates to the specific role you are applying for?  *

I am a go getter' type of person. I take on big challenges with a positive attitude and a never say no attitude to things that I am patient about. As a student that works full time and goes to school full time I am very good at time management and I will always have time for this committee.

What else would you like to share? *

Good luck to everyone that is running. I look forward to what the future holds for the YGUS.

The Young Greens interpret the 10 Key Values and the GPUS Platform as anti-capitalist, anti-oppression/intersectional, anti-colonialist, and politically independent. Does that align with your political outlook? *

Yes

Are there any of the Green Party's 10 Key Values that you believe are of particular importance right now for Young Greens? *

3 & 10 stand out to be the most I'll admit I've always had a strong heart for the environment as I Believe with out work there nothing else would be worth it & with a healthy environment comes over all heath, happiness & a livable planet for the future.

Please tell us if and why you believe the Green Party is the political imperative right now as opposed to other parties or exclusively non-electoral movements? *

I believe both parties and the "lesser" parties are all trying to fool the american people and the world of many horrible things yet the few who opposed it where shut out or diminished because they didn't have the resources or network to accomplish anything. I believe that resource needs to be the Green party & its many Caucuses & efforts. if we could join together all movements smaller causes & people powered community efforts that align with the green party and the people things would change and they would begin to change quickly with the green party being the only organization non allowing for corporate or dirty money it is obvious to me it is directly imperative the american people find & take the green party seriously.

Do you identify with or are you a member of any political organizations or parties in addition to the Greens?  *

Not at an official capacity, I do follow closely many progressive & socialist causes & parties but am currently only fully active with in the green party and its caucuses.

What experience do you have in organizing? Please clarify any movement, electoral, or student group organizing experience.  *

I have been organizing in different ways my whole life from My personal life & professional life, I have held classes as a Volunteer, sales men & now as a Professional dog trainer or as a student holding a small class on chakras & meditation. I am currently one of many organizing in my home state of Utah to reform the Green Party of Utah (GPUT) & gain Ballot access for 2018 Local Elections, Petitioning drives & even a few fun events like a "Fun Hike". I've also organized for Dr.Jill Stein in Utah hosting Honk & Waves, Sign Making parties & in park meet & greets.

What are initiatives that you would like to begin within the caucus--both generally and within the understanding of the designated role you are applying for? *

I would like to Continue to bring in new membership & rally old by all current efforts of course, but with an added emphasis of More in person "meet & Greet" or Speaking events as I believe people see thousands of fliers & Facebook pages & tables at fairs (witch are all amazing and vital for sure!) Etc. Etc. every day but rarely see a Person of there own social group or community/Culture out organizing & being loud Proud & having fun doing it, I would also further encourage members to talk to their peers in person to gain New members but to also start new chapters run for leadership poisons in More Schools & Universities, I would also push for younger members such as high school students to become more involved now rather then wait tell they are 18. I would continue a very open communication with all members so as to gain new ideas & ideas on improving current agendas. so in the end I want to push for more personal approaches & to ramp up any current agendas, push for new younger membership as well as all ages in general & to build always stronger communication network.

What ideas do you have for a vibrant program for Young Greens chapters--both on campuses (college & high school) and any Youth Caucus chapters at the state and local level? *

I would push to see in person events held & organized fully by students on every campus, events like Rally's for local causes, Meet & Greets for the Campus youth caucus, members out actively talking to there peers recruiting all levels but with an emphasis of the loud, proud kind unknown leaders. my over all program idea is get out in person and stay active constantly being seen & heard

What schools have you been or are you currently affiliated with?  *

Unfortunately I am not a student of a psychical school. But am a Current online student

Are you willing to reach out to people at these schools, regardless of whether you serve on the steering committee or not?  *

Yes

We hope to raise money for a part-time staff organizer. Do you have any ideas for how to raise money for the Young Greens?  *

I believe the small constant donations are the key to success i believe the strongest effort to gain fundraiser money it to be out active loud & seen at every rally cause & event no matter how big or small or cause itself. holding more rally's gaining more truly active members will bring in more small donations.

What other skills, resources, and ideas can you bring to this committee -- especially as it relates to the specific role you are applying for?  *

I am currently a Starting small Business owner, Professional dog trainer witch brings in the incite of healthy & sustainable marketing & fundraising practices that the green party I believe needs more then ever, I also bring with the dog training a background in Behaviourlogy & positive reinforcement witch is very successful in engaging people & keeping them active happy & fulfilled. some personal skills I believe that would aid me are my life long love of learning anything & everything, not being afraid to stand up to authority when needed & my over all huge ambition and creativity.

What else would you like to share? *

I have always believe youth were vastly absent from the political stage never feeling a place was allowed or needed but I've always felt this was a foolish Idea not having youth evolved in politics, causes & general moments is why we the people have never been successful in moving forward for the future generations rather then ones own, when I heard of the Green parties youth caucus I renounced my plan to never vote never be evolved and signed up & registered to vote that day and have been fully active ever since because I felt i had a place and a say that I would truly be listened to and taken seriously so for me this caucus is the absolutist imperative & currently I believe needs to be stronger & louder then ever as the new generations are coming of age and we can not allow them to be tricked like every past generation before them and this is why i am running...

Are there any of the Green Party's 10 Key Values that you believe are of particular importance right now for Young Greens? *

I believe non-violence is of particular importance for the Young Greens and for the Green Party, in general. The drums of war are beating in the Middle East, and it is crucial that the Young Greens take action and resist. But non-violence and resistance to violence cannot be limited solely to war. The worldwide militarization of police and the pervasiveness of police brutality are serious issues that need to be addressed, and issues that greatly affect American youths, particularly in historically marginalized and oppressed communities. Finally, I believe we need to consider non-violence in the context of sexual assault on campus. This is, unfortunately, a problem on campuses across the United States, and I think that the Young Greens could take the charge to make colleges and universities safer, both on campus and off campus in the larger community.

Please tell us if and why you believe the Green Party is the political imperative right now as opposed to other parties or exclusively non-electoral movements? *

The Green Party does not accept corporate donations and never will. We often start the conversation on various issues, and are the first to put forth progressive policies, which are later adopted only when the corporate parties see fit. It is also important to understand that the Green Party is both a political party and a movement. Our members voice their opinions and shape policy within the party as well as fight on the streets and in the community every day.

Do you identify with or are you a member of any political organizations or parties in addition to the Greens?  *

No

What experience do you have in organizing? Please clarify any movement, electoral, or student group organizing experience.  *

I am the Young Greens/Campus Greens coordinator in New Jersey. We have Young Greens chapters at schools such as Rutgers, Seton Hall, and Kean University, and a new chapter being formed at Stockton University. This is a big deal for New Jersey, considering that we had Green Party affiliates at our schools prior to the 2016-17 academic year. The members of these chapters were instrumental in campaigning for Jill Stein in New Jersey, and we are now working on Seth Kaper-Dale's campaign for Governor. In addition to this, our chapters organize and participate in protests on campus and across the state, hold workshops, write opinion pieces and letters to the editor in their school newspapers, screen films on social justice issues, and assist in campaigning for our Green candidates. Most importantly, they make their voices heard among the myriad political organizations on campus. They challenge authority and the norm, always seeking to improve the quality of life on campus and beyond.

What are initiatives that you would like to begin within the caucus--both generally and within the understanding of the designated role you are applying for? *

I would like to start a Green book club where we could, perhaps, assign one or two books to be read each month that relate to the Green movement. I think this would be a productive way to examine current policy and to shape future policy, as well.

What ideas do you have for a vibrant program for Young Greens chapters--both on campuses (college & high school) and any Youth Caucus chapters at the state and local level? *

I want to see collaboration between Young Greens chapters and other organizations on campus. This would succeed in giving the Green Party a public face, and it would be a great source for recruiting. Through on campus and off campus growth, the Young Greens will become leaders in their respective communities, representing the leading voices of the most progressive movements.

What schools have you been or are you currently affiliated with?  *

I studied at Penn State University, and I am currently a PhD student at Rutgers University.

Are you willing to reach out to people at these schools, regardless of whether you serve on the steering committee or not?  *

Yes

The most simple way is to implement dues, both for the Young Greens US and at the various Young Greens chapters throughout the country. Furthermore, if students are able to formally register their organization through their school, they are likely to receive some kind of funding. Finally, I think it would be in everyone's interest to hold joint fundraisers with the state party. It's a great way to make connections, form mentorships, and get involved.

What other skills, resources, and ideas can you bring to this committee -- especially as it relates to the specific role you are applying for?  *

I am active in our state party, as well, and I have had the pleasure of working with a brilliant group of Greens in New Jersey. They are more than willing to contribute to the growth of the Young Greens, as well. Furthermore, as a current PhD student, I am still very much involved in university life, and I think that this is a unique position to be in, as I am able to see how life on campus changes day to day and how our students perceive this. I am also able to aid in the website design!

What else would you like to share? *

I have voted Green since I was old enough to vote. I am dedicated to the Party and its values; they are important staples in my life, and I am fully committed to upholding these values and contributing to the growth of the Party.

Are there any of the Green Party's 10 Key Values that you believe are of particular importance right now for Young Greens? *

While every value of the Green Party is applicable to the array of challenges facing our country, the first value of grassroots democracy is particularly important for the Young Greens today. With the Trump administration reining over the federal government, the greatest resistance starts in organized communities. Strong neighborhoods are resilient neighborhoods. It is dire that the opposition comes from the people—the roots of this country. At schools and universities in particular, community organizing structures already exists. The places where Young Greens organize are ripe for progressive movements. The greatest political movements have stemmed from the youth. So, as great activists of past generations have done, my generation must mobilize. Grassroots democracy means getting real populists in local offices and building from there. Young people are eager to make a difference and with the Green Party, they can.

Please tell us if and why you believe the Green Party is the political imperative right now as opposed to other parties or exclusively non-electoral movements? *

The Green Party is the political imperative in 2017. Since its creation, the party has been virtue-based and completely against corporate interests in politics. While certain recent political candidates have run popular campaigns preaching anti-corporate values, the entire Green Party membership embodies these values. No other political party dedicates as much energy to peoples’ movements or environmental issues. The Greens are not focused on careers in politics, rather their attention is devoted to resolving the environmental and economic crisis of the moment.

Do you identify with or are you a member of any political organizations or parties in addition to the Greens?  *

Students and Youth for a New America; Illini Progressives

What experience do you have in organizing? Please clarify any movement, electoral, or student group organizing experience.  *

I started organizing with Greenpeace Chicago two years ago. As a frontline canvasser, I learned the basics of engaging in important conservations with fellow members of my community. The experience of catalyzing impactful change within the environmentalist movement drew me to other forms of organizing. I currently preside over my university’s chapter of Beyond Coal, which focuses on coal divestment, and educating my campus on fossil fuel issues. I have worked with administrators, students, and faculty to commit the University of Illinois to divest from the coal industry. I have worked with senates, co-writing resolutions and referendums. I have experience organizing fundraisers, rallies and demonstrations specifically on college campuses. In regards to the Young Greens, I formed the Young Green Party on my campus, mobilized students to not only vote for Jill Stein, but also campaign for her. We organized a debate and hosted educational events throughout the election. I have worked on local political campaigns for the mayor of Urbana, and city council members. Most of my organizing has focused on environmental issues, but I understand the inherent need for intersectionality in justice issues and always strive to incorporate all aspects of an issue, rather than just ecological ones.

What are initiatives that you would like to begin within the caucus--both generally and within the understanding of the designated role you are applying for? *

I would like to initiate stronger collaborations within the youth caucus. I have benefitted greatly from the connections I have made through the youth caucus this year through weekly conference calls and virtual connections online. I would love to restart the conference calls and keep focusing on specific topics every other week. Also, I would like to redesign the website, both in updating information, but also making it more user-friendly. The platform has some great educational tools and I would like to showcase them on the homepage. As a co-chair, I plan to publicize the anti-capitalist, anti-colonialist platform as much as possible. Certain stereotypes follow the Greens and I would like to remove the stigma associated with our party through positive action.

What ideas do you have for a vibrant program for Young Greens chapters--both on campuses (college & high school) and any Youth Caucus chapters at the state and local level? *

The most successful Green chapters I have observed focus on justice issues. Organizing around issues which can be addressed with the ten key values—social, economic, environmental—brings in passionate individuals and gives members chances to become educated as well as empowered. So many students organize around specific issues and are quite pessimistic in regards to the two-party system in the US. With the Greens, an alternative exists and activists are the leaders of the party—much different than either dominant party today. For local Youth Caucus members, supporting these causes is extremely important. Also, local and state chapters can focus on non-partisan ballot-access and lobbying bills in their local and state legislations.

What schools have you been or are you currently affiliated with?  *

Young Greens can fundraise around non-partisan anti-corruption campaigns somewhat easier than other campaigns. The new dues system will help secure funds to hire a part-time staff organizer.

What other skills, resources, and ideas can you bring to this committee -- especially as it relates to the specific role you are applying for?  *

I am the president and founder of the Illini Young Greens at the land grant institution of the University of Illinois. I am the spokesperson of the Young Greens on this campus of 40,000 students. Before founding the group last fall, there was no presence of Young Greens. I am familiar with the difficulties of complacency, and apathy. I understand the lacks of interest in political involvement both from the right and the far left. My school is not a particularly progressive place, but with time the Young Greens are becoming a more well-known group. Organizing with Beyond Coal has also given me many challenges which co-chairs subsequently deal with as well. I feel I am quite prepared to take on the position of co-chair for the youth caucus.

What else would you like to share? *

I was very involved in Standing Rock and currently still work on lots of pipeline organizing. After I graduate, I plan on running for local office as a Green.

Are there any of the Green Party's 10 Key Values that you believe are of particular importance right now for Young Greens? *

Non-Violence is of the utmost importance for Young Greens. It is imperative that we set an example for future generations and bolster our unified belief in a peace offensive. At the end of the day I believe that all of the ten key values are of equal merit and are necessary to sustain a healthy and happy life for all.

Please tell us if and why you believe the Green Party is the political imperative right now as opposed to other parties or exclusively non-electoral movements? *

The Green Party is at the forefront of politics with more people starving for alternatives to the two party trap. Beyond the desire for an alternative party lies the mounting disillusionment with the current and prior administrations. More than ever we need a party that prioritizes the environment and peaceful relations regarding foreign policy. At present no such party exists other than the Green Party. As a nation we are already in over our heads in many ways. The Green Party is the only political movement that has the potential to rectify the injustices imposed on the earth by the United States of America.

Do you identify with or are you a member of any political organizations or parties in addition to the Greens?  *

The Green Party is my primary focus as I have an insatiable appetite for change.

What experience do you have in organizing? Please clarify any movement, electoral, or student group organizing experience.  *

My primary experience with organizing is through social media and word of mouth. Over the years I have been president of my high school art club and rallied for administrative and curricular change at California Institute of the Arts.

What are initiatives that you would like to begin within the caucus--both generally and within the understanding of the designated role you are applying for? *

As a Co-Chair of the Young Greens of the United states I would like to facilitate and organize places to meet and discuss Green ideas and politics in the Greater Saint Louis area. Activism should be accessible and it would bring me great joy to act as a liaison between midwestern Greens and events to both spread word of our ideals and engage in our communities in ways that have otherwise been overlooked.

What ideas do you have for a vibrant program for Young Greens chapters--both on campuses (college & high school) and any Youth Caucus chapters at the state and local level? *

It is my firm belief that many young people align with the ideals of the Green Party but do not have the means to organize. As Co-Chair I would reach out to high schools and administrations in order to spread the word, with a particular focus on extracurricular environmental clubs. Many young people who are learning about politics do not know of the Green Party because it simply is not discussed. I believe starting with the youngest Greens and spurring interest is the best way to strengthen and build Youth Caucus chapters at the local and state level.

What schools have you been or are you currently affiliated with?  *

California Institute of the Arts

Are you willing to reach out to people at these schools, regardless of whether you serve on the steering committee or not?  *

Yes

We hope to raise money for a part-time staff organizer. Do you have any ideas for how to raise money for the Young Greens?  *

The Young Greens are a talented and intelligent bunch. Enlisting the skill sets and interests to build capital would be my first thought. Arts and craft fairs could be one possibility, another might be an informal Green benefit banquet serving vegan and vegetarian foods. Offering to build community gardens in exchange for a fair and just amount of money might also be another way to raise funds both creating sustainable food sources and proceeds for the Greens.

What other skills, resources, and ideas can you bring to this committee -- especially as it relates to the specific role you are applying for?  *

Creating and designing signs to spread the word would be one of the things I could offer the committee. In addition to my design skills I am also good with advocating for the Greens and have converted many of my friends, former democrats, who have in turn converted some of their friends. Persuasion through education is important. I would also consider writing and organizing some of my strong suits.

What else would you like to share? *

I first became aware of the Green Party in 2016 when I became completely dismayed by our presidential candidates. I began to explore other options and was delighted to find that the Green Party stands for all that I believe in. Listening to Jill Stein give a speech in my hometown of Saint Louis was highly inspirational and I have been a true Green ever since. I am an artist trained in Paris and Los Angeles and have traveled extensively. My world views keep growing as the years go on and it has become clear to me what is most important are people, planet, and peace over profit

22

Are you a member of your state Green Party? (Find your state party information at http://www.gp.org/state_parties) *

Yes, I'm a State Council member, Secretary of the Adams County Green Party, and the State Youth Coordinator.

What position are you self-nominating for? *

Secretary

Are you able to commit at least 10 hours/month to this position? *

Yes

The Young Greens interpret the 10 Key Values and the GPUS Platform as anti-capitalist, anti-oppression/intersectional, anti-colonialist, and politically independent. Does that align with your political outlook?

Yes

Are there any of the Green Party's 10 Key Values that you believe are of particular importance right now for Young Greens? *

6. Community-Based Economics. In order for you to understand oppression, you must understand the root causes of oppression. Capitalism, the system that we live under, is the driving force behind most if not all systems of oppression. Those with power (Money) will always use their influence to incite hatred amongst different identity groups to retain their power. Remove that incentive and the chains of oppression will come crashing down. I think Eco-Socialism and building an economy on inspiration, instead of desperation is the path forward for the working people of this Country.

Please tell us if and why you believe the Green Party is the political imperative right now as opposed to other parties or exclusively non-electoral movements? *

Ultimately for me, it came down to choosing the most powerful socialist vehicle (Party) in the Country and fusing myself with that movement to help it grow and to empower other people to help it grow. I aim to help the Green Party become a big tent leftist Party that allows room for everyone from Trots to Democratic Socialists. Without this leadership the left will splinter into many different and opposing groups.

Do you identify with or are you a member of any political organizations or parties in addition to the Greens?  *

I flirt with ISO. Many members of our local ISO group are registered Greens.

What experience do you have in organizing? Please clarify any movement, electoral, or student group organizing experience.  *

My first experience in political organizing came from volunteering for the Bernie Sanders Presidential campaign in 2015. In 2016 I continued my work with the Bernie movement until it died, at which point I became Green. During the year I also started an Organized Citizen Group in unincorporated southwest Adams County with the long term intention of seeking to incorporate. In 2017 I became the Secretary of the Adams County Green Party and the State Youth Coordinator.

What are initiatives that you would like to begin within the caucus--both generally and within the understanding of the designated role you are applying for? *

I have the time to invest, to really put myself into building this group. I want to take that opportunity and reach out to as many young greens as possible. I want to focus on setting up state youth caucuses in every state in the Country. This would help us set up State Green Parties in states without and to strengthen struggling State Parties. Using what I learn from reaching out to young greens will make me an effective secretary for the caucus..

What ideas do you have for a vibrant program for Young Greens chapters--both on campuses (college & high school) and any Youth Caucus chapters at the state and local level? *

I would start by reaching out to State Party leaders, if there are any youth in State or Local leadership they should be leading the charge in building their State Youth caucuses. Once a core group of dedicated members can be established we can start to grow our online presence and use nationbuilder to contact potential caucus members. We need to be building with a 52 State bottom up approach.

What schools have you been or are you currently affiliated with?  *

Colorado's Finest High School of Choice 2011 graduate.

Are you willing to reach out to people at these schools, regardless of whether you serve on the steering committee or not?  *

Yes

We hope to raise money for a part-time staff organizer. Do you have any ideas for how to raise money for the Young Greens?  *

We need to grow a strong dues paying base.

What other skills, resources, and ideas can you bring to this committee -- especially as it relates to the specific role you are applying for?  *

I'm a strong communicator. I'm not afraid to speak up if the situation warrants it. Essentially my primary duty will be to stay prepared and updated on national committee business and to step in when need to represent the youth caucus. Outside of this I will dedicate the rest of my time to empowering youth across this country to get involved in the Green Party.

What else would you like to share? *

Regardless if I am elected or not you will have an active and enthusiastic member ready to step up to the plate. By electing me you will make me even more effective in the work I have committed to. I thank you for considering me for the position of Secretary.

Future Focus & Sustainability

Please tell us if and why you believe the Green Party is the political imperative right now as opposed to other parties or exclusively non-electoral movements? *

The green party is the only party right now which is willing to stand up for the people of the country instead of the corporations, and place the environment as an issue of key importance. For me personally issues surrounding global warming and environmental stewardship are of paramount importance. In today' mainstream media "purity test" has become a popular buzzword, and it is safe to say that for me personally environmental issues are what I look for in my purity test, and the only candidates I have seen which pass this test are from the green party. This is something that I know is also true for some of my peers, and will become increasingly important as the issue of climate change is the paramount issue of our generation.

Do you identify with or are you a member of any political organizations or parties in addition to the Greens?  *

No

What experience do you have in organizing? Please clarify any movement, electoral, or student group organizing experience.  *

I have worked as the Chancellor, Vice Chancellor, Philanthropy Chair, Rush Chair, IFC Delegate, and many other positions within my fraternity, Tau Epsilon Phi. I have also served as an Assistant Senior Patrol Leader and Patrol Leader for my boy scout troop. I also achieved the rank of eagle scout during my time in the Boy Scouts of America.

What are initiatives that you would like to begin within the caucus--both generally and within the understanding of the designated role you are applying for? *

I would like to attempt to work with other grass roots funded organizations such as Justice Democrats to advance progressive issues, and place pressure on the current political establishment.

What ideas do you have for a vibrant program for Young Greens chapters--both on campuses (college & high school) and any Youth Caucus chapters at the state and local level? *

I believe the main way to keep these organizations energized is to help them connect with local movements and organizations. This could be done by ensuring that they are aware of and participate in protests such as the Women's March, The March for Science, and the many other protests which I believe will come forth in the future. As well as taking the time to members of the committee look for opportunities to engage with the individual communities of our chapters which the chapters are not currently utilizing.

What schools have you been or are you currently affiliated with?  *

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute

Are you willing to reach out to people at these schools, regardless of whether you serve on the steering committee or not?  *

Yes

We hope to raise money for a part-time staff organizer. Do you have any ideas for how to raise money for the Young Greens?  *

Being that the party does not have one centralized location it would seem to me that the easiest way to raise money would be through concentrated fund raising drives. The way to make these effective would be to capitalize on the failings of the ruling political parties. When we know a decision is about to be made by the government which will not be well received we need to make an organized effort to point this out on a large scale, and use this as an opportunity to send people to the Young Greens website where they can learn about us, become a member, and hopefully make a donation.

What other skills, resources, and ideas can you bring to this committee -- especially as it relates to the specific role you are applying for?  *

I have spent a large amount of time in leadership and organizational roles and am able to bring the managerial skills that come with that to this position. I have also been educated as an engineer and can bring the analytical and problem solving skills which are vital to engineering to this position as well as a strong background in scientific fields. This is something I feel is important because having doctors, scientists, and engineers on our side is one of the many things which separated us from other political parties.

What else would you like to share? *

If elected I will serve tirelessly in this role. The green party has always been the political party with which I most identified, and I view getting involved with the green party on an organizational level as a good way for me to venture further into politics. I would like to see myself eventually take on larger roles within the party, and maybe even at some point run as a candidate under the party.

Yes, I think so.

What position are you self-nominating for? *

Alternate Delegate to the GPUS National Committee

Are you able to commit at least 10 hours/month to this position? *

Yes

The Young Greens interpret the 10 Key Values and the GPUS Platform as anti-capitalist, anti-oppression/intersectional, anti-colonialist, and politically independent. Does that align with your political outlook? *

Yes

Are there any of the Green Party's 10 Key Values that you believe are of particular importance right now for Young Greens? *

anti-colonialist, as we are spending more money on war than domestic infrastructure and economic building activities, such as education. Also anti-capitalist because young people have too much debt.

Please tell us if and why you believe the Green Party is the political imperative right now as opposed to other parties or exclusively non-electoral movements? *

Libertarians don't know foreign policy and they are an arm of the republicans, non-electoral can't compete with party money, democrats and republicans are corporate parties that rarely work for the average American.

Do you identify with or are you a member of any political organizations or parties in addition to the Greens?  *

I voted in polls for democratic and republican annual priorities this year to make their platforms more progressive. I am still registered democratic, although I voted Stein-Baraka last election. I supported the Greens a lot last election and would like to keep doing so, since I feel it's the only moral choice.

What experience do you have in organizing? Please clarify any movement, electoral, or student group organizing experience.  *

I organized a charity race in high school. I am a professional marketer and know a lot about social media, marketing, content management and email blasts.

What are initiatives that you would like to begin within the caucus--both generally and within the understanding of the designated role you are applying for? *

Green education platform. It's one of the only things economists can never argue with us about and everyone deserves a minimum standard of education, including English learning. This could be offered online and would not be costly at all by political standards. Just get the teacher a lump sum for online content that lasts long term. The more educated our citizens are, the more progressive they will be and the better our economy will be.

What ideas do you have for a vibrant program for Young Greens chapters--both on campuses (college & high school) and any Youth Caucus chapters at the state and local level? *

Green programs, like getting involved with nature. These will be easily integrated with green tech initiatives. Petitioning through online platforms. Maybe some sort of group vlog for everyone to share their voice on assigned questions.

What schools have you been or are you currently affiliated with?  *

Northeastern University

Are you willing to reach out to people at these schools, regardless of whether you serve on the steering committee or not?  *

Yes

We hope to raise money for a part-time staff organizer. Do you have any ideas for how to raise money for the Young Greens?  *

Maybe a kickstarter where we give away cool art. There are a lot of artists involved in the Green Party that should be willing to share work for free publicity. Reach out to donors.

What other skills, resources, and ideas can you bring to this committee -- especially as it relates to the specific role you are applying for?  *

I'm a good public speaker. I'm good at organizing projects and know a lot about marketing. I am very aware of how corrupt politics is and I want to help grow the greens, as the best party.

What else would you like to share? *

I would like to promote holistic medicine, if possible. Herbs are very beneficial and our society is so tech heavy, they act like it hasn't been effective medicine for thousands of years. I just released an album under the name Sage Suede and I mention progressive ideas in the lyrics, so it really represents who I am. I've had several people tell me that I should be president in the last few months. I'm not set on the idea, but I'd like to get involved at present and make an impact.

Please tell us if and why you believe the Green Party is the political imperative right now as opposed to other parties or exclusively non-electoral movements? *

The Green Party's refusal to rely on corporate and PAC money gives it a unique place in the current political environment, particularly as millions of Americans, inspired by Bernie Sanders, are taking note of Democratic ties to big money interest.

Do you identify with or are you a member of any political organizations or parties in addition to the Greens?  *

No

What experience do you have in organizing? Please clarify any movement, electoral, or student group organizing experience.  *

President of my high school's Young Progressives; founded my college's Young Greens chapter; council member on reproductive justice group's (H&FTN) youth council, Ambassador for Planned Parenthood.

What are initiatives that you would like to begin within the caucus--both generally and within the understanding of the designated role you are applying for? *

Generally I think there needs to be a push to update the party/caucus' online presence. Web aesthetics and accessibility are inferior in comparison with both our rivals (Dems) and contemporaries (DSA). Inside the caucus I believe their needs to be a stronger infrastructure. As a founder of a YG chapter, I am well aware of the lack of support that some of our chapters recieve. I also think I could play a role in establishing long term connections with outside issue/advocacy groups that would help in creating positive awareness of the GP as well as increase membership.

What ideas do you have for a vibrant program for Young Greens chapters--both on campuses (college & high school) and any Youth Caucus chapters at the state and local level? *

I strongly believe that the YC must establish a solid and lasting infrastructure so that Young Greens chapters will have somewhere to turn for complete and thorough assistance. Once that is achieved the sky is the limit and I see no reason why YG chapters can't achieve some of the success currently being seen by local coalition groups, the DSA, and College Dems.

One option would be to go through the email list, when Dr. Stein attaches her name to a goal it usually gets done.

I am also an Ambassador for Tennessee Advocates for Planned Parenthood, founder of MTSU Young Greens, and council member on reproductive rights group, Healthy and Free TN's, Youth Council.

I throw myself head first into every activity I participate in and refuse to slack up until the goal is achieved. As a member of the YG Steering Committee, I will put this work ethic and determination to use in furthering the goals of the Party.

Grassroots Democracy is the most important value for young Greens to understand. We need to get outside, unplug and talk to People. I believe in united the 99%.

Please tell us if and why you believe the Green Party is the political imperative right now as opposed to other parties or exclusively non-electoral movements? *

The Green Party is able to tell the truth about more issues than any other party. I believe the Green Party needs to go even further and become the Big Truth party

Do you identify with or are you a member of any political organizations or parties in addition to the Greens?  *

I am a member of the Healthcare For All organization in Sacramento. I am friends with many People from Democratic Socialist group (in Sacramento) to BLM and a Free Thinkers Group.

What experience do you have in organizing? Please clarify any movement, electoral, or student group organizing experience.  *

The Sac. Greens and myself are currently organizing the next State wide Green Party assembly in Sacramento. I also have the experience of attending various movements and protests in the Sacramento area.

What are initiatives that you would like to begin within the caucus--both generally and within the understanding of the designated role you are applying for? *

I believe uniting the 99%, 'waking' people up and spreading the Truth is the most vital need for US going forward. I am currently working on a ChildrensMarchforHumanity.com (which you can find online). I think a big way to start uniting the 99% is to spread the understanding that our children are victims and are even being targeted by a government that treats We the People like rats in an experiment. The safety of Our children is important to all members of the 99%, it does not matter whether they voted for one puppet or the other.

What ideas do you have for a vibrant program for Young Greens chapters--both on campuses (college & high school) and any Youth Caucus chapters at the state and local level? *

Tabling at college and high school campuses is not only great fun but also a way to start a conversation with young people. Through Tabling we can meet youth that are interested in starting chapters in their school and offer them guidance.

What schools have you been or are you currently affiliated with?  *

I went to Jesuit High School in Sacramento and then attended Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington.

Are you willing to reach out to people at these schools, regardless of whether you serve on the steering committee or not?  *

Yes

We hope to raise money for a part-time staff organizer. Do you have any ideas for how to raise money for the Young Greens?  *

We need to continue to get out and speak to the People. We are the only party left (besides Peace and Freedom) that can spread the truth. Jill Stein manages to raise millions of dollars very quickly for the Recount that was eventually stopped because it was way to revealing. As Jill raised money for a Recount that never really occurred, can she not help raise money for the Young Greens? If not we, ourselves, can start a "gofundme" page, or what have you, and continue being a presence at events around the country. We can provide a donation box at all these events.

What other skills, resources, and ideas can you bring to this committee -- especially as it relates to the specific role you are applying for?  *

I make friends with people very easily. I understand that the division of We the People is the number 1 issue for US. Speaking with trump voters or hilary voters and everything in between is something I never shy away from. I also created the Green Party Booklist! I have shared it with many Greens, and I find that in a world of '1984' where the media/news is entirely dictated by the 1% it is highly important to find and understand the truth, and books provide that truth.

Please tell us if and why you believe the Green Party is the political imperative right now as opposed to other parties or exclusively non-electoral movements? *

It is imperative for the Green Party to be on the ballot and to have fair access. It may be a third-party in an unfortunate two-party system however this nation was founded to make sure that everyone has a fair chance and the party system was built on political parties competing with each other and therefore built on third-parties.
